“As the year comes to an end, don’t look back at yesterday's disappointment. Look ahead to God's promises yet to unfold.” ― Buky Ojelabi

New Year’s Day is the celebration that lets atheists and agnostics and pretend Christians think they have a new start.  But it is only when you confess your sins to Jesus, ask forgiveness, and invite Him in to live in your heart and to guide your life—only then do you really get the slate wiped clean and get a new start.  Changing the date on your watch or calendar does nothing about changing what is within your heart.  To stand up straight, to hold your head up high, and to begin to lead a new life, you must begin on your knees.  That’s the truth and you can take that to the bank.  Ask God to “create in me a clean heart” and you will truly have a new year, a new decade, a new life for the rest of the time you are on this world.  It’s up to you, but I recommend it.  This is the only point I’m making today.  If you’re thinking about new things, start with Christ abiding in your heart.
Amen.
