“There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.” ~ Ben Williams
While Karen and I were in Dar Es Salaam, one of our dogs had a litter of eight puppies. Karen loves to hold them. I think she has doubts about the mother dog’s ability to care for her own young. Anyway, the father is a pedigreed German Shepherd and most of them are already spoken for as they make great pets and guard dogs for missionaries in the area. One of them, a male, we will keep as we always seem to need to have a puppy to raise. As it says in the quote above, puppies just keep your spirits up, no matter what. Oh, congratulations to you Seahawk fans and condolences to you Bronco fans and that is all I will say about that although I did sit up from 2:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. to watch it live. I don’t get to see many American football games here and to get to see the Super Bowl was kind of special. We don’t get the commercials, but John downloaded them so we will get to see what all the fuss was about. Trip to Musoma tomorrow for bank and internet stuff, then a filter delivery on Wednesday to the new Anglican boys camp about six kilometers from our house. It feels good to know that the technical expertise that Jerry Buckingham brought here so many years ago is still keeping children healthy and cholera free. Thursday is a trip to Mwanza to find a swimming pool for Karen to use for an hour or so and to get more of John’s dental work done, as well as going by the computer store for battery repair for one of John’s computers. We still don’t have internet but John’s two computer, three phone, and a toaster hookup is working well enough for me to post blogs until the internet is fixed. Between puppies, Super Bowl games, and finding a pool for Karen—things are going pretty well here. We are still doing what we were called to do and God still sends us thank-you notes—be they puppies or football games. God is good—all the time.
