Quote of the Day:  “Women have to harness their power – it’s absolutely true. It’s just learning not to take the first no. And if you can’t go straight ahead, you go around the corner.” ~ Cher

If you want to change the world in developing countries, you first must empower the women.  My son, John, is doing his part by creating the very first online store in Tanzania, and its purpose is to benefit the women in a local vocational school.  The women are making covers and cases for iPads, iPods, smart phones, tablet computers and the like.  You can see one picture of a tablet cover on the right near the treadle sewing machine on which it was made.  My wife has two of them, one for her iPod Touch, and one for her iPad.  They are made of 100% Tanzanian cloth--cotton from Tanzania, dye and pattern from Tanzania, and final production by Tanzanian women's hands.  You not only get a one-of-a-kind cover, but you also get to support the women of the vocational school who are learning to do things on their own.  Our mission has supplied and still supplies treadle sewing machines, like the one pictured, to help women here develop a trade.  The website for the online store is http://www.juaganda.com/ and the website for the vocational school is http://tupendane.juaganda.com/
The prices are low but the impact of your purchase is great.  Help us help these women realize their potential and begin to change the world, and you can do it from your computer with a credit card.  Not bad, eh?
