Quote of the Day: Take time to appreciate employees and they will reciprocate in a thousand ways. -- Bob Nelson
Lusi came by today--that's her picture at the right. She left on maternity leave at the end of last August yet still has not had a baby. Turns out she had female problems that forced her to leave and the culture here does not talk about such things so she said she was pregnant. She got her problems cured in about two months but then became pregnant, so she is now seven months pregnant and due in late June or early July. We sent Shaban by to take her to the doctor yesterday because we were worried about her. He took Lusi and her husband to the best doctor we could find and had an ultra-sound. That's how we found out about the real reasons for her leaving and why she had not yet had her baby. The doctor says the baby has dropped, is in good shape, as is the mother. We paid for all the doctor's fees and tests and gave Lusi some money to live on besides. She came by today to thank us and to tell us that after the baby is born, she still can't wait to come back to work. We continued to pay her her full wages for seven months but had to stop because we couldn't afford to pay her and the woman who replaced her as well. We have continued to pay her social security the whole time, so when she comes back, it will be as if she never left. It was so good to see her. We have really missed her after having her take care of us for seven years. We made sure she knows that we will pay her doctor's bills and to call us when she has the baby. We truly appreciate all that she has done for us and will continue to help her and her family. How could we not?
