Quote of the Day: “In the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you.”
― Leo Tolstoy
Turns out that today is the holiday honoring the workers, so it's our Labor Day, just on the first of May. We did find a bee man that will remove all our bees and transfer them to his hives for about $75 which is a good deal if you ask me. It beats filling the rooms with smoke and then having the bees come back a week or two later. It also beats killing all the bees which is just a waste and goes against my grain, although we have done it once. I like it that our bees which are pests to us will be producing honey for others--and maybe even us since we buy local honey. Bishop Monto came back by today to finalize our plans for the training session and ordination this weekend. We will present two new Bibles to the new pastor and a book by John Wesley that was provided by two pastors in Arkansas, one of whom has been here and preached here. Even though the Wesley book is in English, it is still highly prized as the last fifteen pastors who were ordained all have copies. It is like the diploma for the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz, a kind of symbol of learning. Bwana Masele is on the trail of new Bibles, none of which are now in Bunda, but he may have found some in Lamadi, so hopefully we can have more new Bibles for the pastors and evangelists when they come this weekend. This is one of the main reasons we are here, although I will miss the afternoon session on Saturday, so I can go to Lamadi to share in a celebration for the albino students for which we are caring and teaching. Life can be wonderful if you let it. God is good--all the time.
