Quote of the Day: “In the child's eye, only love is reflected.” ― Kobayashi Issa
We got a package of sunglasses from a supporter of our mission and immediately got them to the albino children. They loved them because they protect their very sensitive eyes and because someone cared enough to send them some. They are delightful children who have to live in fear. We provide as safe a haven as we can and help the government with their efforts to overcome the superstition that makes albino children targets for murder and maiming. The main thing I wanted to get across today is that we can never have enough sunglasses or sunblock. These are children, so the glasses get broken, lost, stolen, and they outgrow them. The sunblock, of course, gets used up quickly. There are local charities that supply them with hats to keep the sun off their heads, but we simply can't get enough pairs of sunglasses. They don't need expensive sunglasses, just the kind you can get for a few dollars or less. Do remember that they are children and don't need adult sizes. The sunblock can come in any form but remember that mailing it can lead to leakage so wrap them carefully in plastic bags. We, and they, are so appreciative of all the things you send them. Do remember not to put a value of more than $20 on the package or we won't be able to get them out of customs. Thank you already because I know of at least three of you who are planning on sending some. God bless you.
