Quote of the Day: “Hospitality, however, seeks to minister. It says, "This home is not mine. It is truly a gift from my Master. I am His servant and I use it as He desires." Hospitality does not try to impress, but to serve.” ― Karen Burton Mains
The bishop of the Lutheran church in the Mara Region came by yesterday. He was looking for a quiet place that was neutral ground to have a meeting with several of the church leaders. They will be coming back tomorrow for two days of meetings to settle some possibly very divisive issues for their church which is why he wanted neutral ground. They will meet up in Martha's Place and we will provide noon meals and drinks as they will not be staying overnight. We are excited about this because we have wanted to provide a place for church meetings for other denominations and this fits the bill. John Milton, the great poet, once wrote that "They also serve who only stand and wait." We can provide a real service just by being here and giving the Lutheran church a venue for serious meetings. It doesn't sound like much, but it really is. On another completely separate note, the Australian missionaries are bringing their female dog over hopefully to have a successful romance with our German Shepherd. This is a service we have never provided before, but, if it works, will assist several missionary families in the area who are waiting for good watch dogs. See, you just never know.
