Quote of the Day: “We have found the hope for the future, and He is us.” ― Me (paraphrasing Pogo)
The Archer's, our Australian missionary friends will be returning to Bunda in a couple of weeks. They have been in Australia for the last ten months on furlough, and when they are gone, we have no one with whom to speak English in our area. A month ago, Sam and Saara from Canada arrived and with the return Matt and Samantha Archer and their family, the number of English speakers in Bunda will number fifteen. From three (all related to each other) to fifteen of various ages and from two other countries will make it seem like a party here. We are very excited to be part of all this. The Archer's have been here for six years and will stay for many more. Sam and Saara plan to be here the rest of their lives, as do we. We represent three different denominations but that doesn't mean much here. Here, all Christians work together and support each other's missions and work. I think it is the way Christ really envisaged it. Here, the Southern Baptist missionary and I co-preached in a village. We could never have done that back home. Here, we are much more concerned about getting a church in a village than what name is on the church. It's also likely that we will have five to ten missionary interns from Boston University here for two full months later this year. Things are only getting better--at least that's the way I see it.
