Quote of the Day: “Probably the reason we all go so haywire at Christmas time is that we don't quite know how to put our love into words.” -- Harlan Miller
Karen, John, and I were sitting and talking about the Christmas that is coming. We were trying to figure out what we could give each other and not spend more than $50 each (money being very tight this year). John thought that maybe we shouldn't give each other gifts but use the money to help some of the poor in the community. Karen and I thought that sounded just grand but what to do for there is so much need here. John had an idea. "Goats!" is what he said. Today is the goat market day, so Shaban has our money and will buy four female goats to give to two families who can breed them (males are always around) and use them for milk and food. We will give them to a Muslim family and a Christian family who have recently lost the husband and father and have no other means of support. Not a bad gift--to give two families a future and immediate food. Shaban said that John thinks way ahead of other people, and I know what he meant. Thanks John, for giving us a great Christmas that we will remember for a long time.
