Quote of the Day: Happiness is a frozen turkey. Charles Wiggins
We are very happy. A store in Mwanza called yesterday to say they had a frozen turkey. Today, Shaban and John went down and came back with a 14 lb. turkey and a 10 lb. sugar glazed ham. We will eat the turkey for Christmas dinner and save the ham for the New Year. We have had only one turkey in the last eight years. Every year we watch all the Thanksgiving specials and shows and can almost smell the turkey but don't have one. One year, we stumbled across one at this store in Mwanza (about a two hour drive from here) and bought it on the spot which didn't happen to be anywhere near Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter, but it was good anyway. I think this Christmas, we will watch "A Christmas Carol" on Christmas morning so that when Tiny Tim says "God bless us, every one" we will sit down to eat our turkey. There are really only a few things we really miss, but roast turkey just happens to be one of the biggies. This year, we will be truly thankful for all our blessings.
