Quote of the Day: Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves. ~ Eric Sevareid
We got the only Christmas package we are going to get yesterday. It was truly a gift of love from friends in South Carolina who have been here twice on mission trips. They are a beautiful couple who are professional photographers. The pictures they took when they were here were just fantastic. One of our staff, Edina, is at right--just one example of their skill. The package was true missionary Christmas with new socks, tee shirts, shoes, sugar free candy for the diabetic among us (me), beef jerky, food mixes, pictures, candy canes, and over-the-counter medicines that we can always use. It lifted all our spirits, especially since they included gifts for our staff and even treats for our dogs. It is so good to be remembered with gifts that show they know us and our needs. Now, on Christmas day, with the turkey and our presents, we will be among all those of our culture remembering the day Christ was born. To all our friends in South Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, New York, Germany, and Australia--we wish you all a safe, quiet, and spirit-filled Christmas. We carry you in our hearts.
