Quote of the Day: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15: 7
It's official, the rainy season is upon us. It is not just raining for a couple of hours each day, it is raining very hard for a couple of hours and then continuing with light rain for the rest of the day. In the last 36 hours, we only had five hours with no rain. This is good for the crops but very bad for the mud homes and buildings. The wind-driven rain blows right in the windows of most homes since none of them, like ours, has any glass in the windows. We can get glass, but it is very expensive and breaks very easily. Sadly, the walls of many of the mud houses fall down sometimes taking the roof with them. Here, a bad rain storm, can kill people--usually children. Our security guard, Amos, lost his five year old daughter to a collapsed wall. We have also lost whole churches, but we rebuild them as soon as we can. We don't have tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, forest fires, or other natural disasters, but flooding and heavy rains kill people here every year and make thousands homeless. I guess there is no place on earth that is not without its natural dangers. Oh, and in Tanzania, over 600 people a year are killed by lions, hippos, and crocodiles, and I guess that falls into the natural disaster category. No place is safe unless you reside in Christ and Him in you. If He abides in you and you in Him, you have nothing to fear and everything to gain. Something to think about, no?
