Quote of the Day: Keep John in your prayers, please. Me
John is a little better but still not out of the woods. He doesn't have malaria or typhoid or any other exotic disease. He did manage to combine two infections with measles (of all things) and an enzyme imbalance to produce an almost lethal scenario. The doctor said any one of the four would have passed almost unnoticed, but it was the combination of these specific infections with the measles and the enzyme imbalance that made him so sick. He gets a massive injection of antibiotics for three straight days along with other oral medications. With adequate rest and food that he can keep down, he will be just fine in a week or so. Not getting the tests done for even another 24 hours might have been fatal, but thanks to your prayers and concern, we got him where he needed to be when he needed to be there. We also found out how much our staff love him and what they were willing to do to help him. Karen and I are very relieved but will be keeping close watch over him while he is undergoing medication injections and then while recuperating. It's what we do for those we love, isn't it?
