Quote of the Day: “You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.” ― Brigham Young
A man showed up the other day and wanted twenty filters. We got so excited about the number of filters he wanted, we forgot to ask why he wanted them. He's coming to pick them up on Friday, so we will have more news then. No news from Lusi yet, but tomorrow is the day the doctor tries to turn the baby. We continue praying for her. Charlini asked to go to special tutoring every afternoon, and of course, we agreed. It costs $10 a month for her to get three hours a day of one to one tutoring, and she just loves it. When she's here, she plays school. We are committed to increasing the educational opportunities for women here, and she is a good example of what happens when you support and encourage learning. Having a preschool at every one of our churches is a real dream of ours that is coming true one church at a time. We now have five churches with preschools and hope to add another next year. As you look around at the denominations that have done really well here, it is the ones that have built and supported schools and health. Almost all the children here love school and the parents do a good job of sacrificing so that their children can attend since school here isn't free. We support ten students at the Bunda Teachers College every year and pay the school fees of several of our pastors' children. It truly makes a difference.
