Quote of the Day: All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. -- Walt Disney
Bishop Monto came by to visit today after his stint teaching about stewardship was done. There is a three-day, ecumenical seminar going on over at the church where many pastors are getting training. We are supplying electricity for them but that's all. They put this together and asked for our blessing which was a pleasure to give. We sent Juliana to the hospital yesterday because she showed up for work with malaria. She is out again today, but should be back tomorrow. I hate malaria. Karen is finishing up her portable incubator for small birth weight babies, and it is pretty neat. It uses hot water stored in glass jars to provide the heat. The jars hang in pockets on the outside of the incubator which is made of fabric and wood. I'll get a picture in the next couple of days. It could save a few lives. She will make three and donate them to the hospital and dispensary in our neighborhood. Festo came by today to give me a list of the students at the St. Penny Wiggins Academy in Karukekere (I have been misspelling the name of the village for seven years--this is the first time I've seen it in print). There are 29 boys and girls ranging in age from three years to seven years. Festo calls it an Early Childhood Development school. We learned from Bishop Monto that Tireme Methodist Church also has started a preschool, so that's five now with twenty to go. Sometimes, dreams do come true.
