Quote of the Day: “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” ― Charles Dickens
We sold a filter today to the pastor of the Lamadi church who will use it for the pre-school there. I love it when we are able to help children get safe drinking water--thanks Jerry, your gifts here continue to give. John and Shaban went to Mwanza today for car parts, a new cell phone for John, and non-African foodstuffs like sliced cheese, Kraft macaroni and cheese, and diet sodas. I am still sore from yesterday's tumble through a glass wall, but still very thankful that no one was hurt. Interestingly, yesterday's blog about my fall was the most read blog since I started blogging. I'll have to fall through glass walls more often. Shaban has moved his family to Bunda and yesterday got his son, Hemedi, into the school where Charlini goes. We helped pay, of course, but at $100 a year, it's not too expensive and more than worth it to keep Shaban's wife happy. The more we can do for education, the better. Shaban wants his son to grow up to be an engineer which is a worthy goal, and one with his father's urging and a little help from us is attainable. We do love it here. Thanks to all who support and pray for us.
