Quote of the Day: “If your project doesn't work, look for the part that you didn't think was important.” - Arthur Bloch
For six years, I have been watching Lusi washing our clothes on the porch and then carrying the large tubs of water out through the gate and around to the clothesline. About a month ago, I asked her why she did it that way when it was so much work. She pointed out that there was only water next to the porch. Doh! John heard her and went to get Shaban. Together, they worked out a cheap solution. It would only cost about $30 to run a pipe out to a faucet near the clothesline. It took them one day to do it with John managing and Shaban and Francis supplying the strong backs. There is a picture to the right that will take you to seven more so you can see the entire thing from beginning to end. Lusi is just thrilled. Now, John is asking all of the staff if there are jobs that could be done more easily. We didn't see the need and Lusi didn't either since at her home she has to walk two kilometers to get to wash water. She had no idea you could make the water go where you wanted it. Just goes to show that it doesn't take much to improve things a great deal and make everybody happy. You do have to go looking for problems, and I know that rubs against most people's grain, yet it is very effective.
