Quote of the Day:   “The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” – Samuel Johnson

Watching the Olympics (we get to see it all live on four, dedicated, 24hr channels) reminds us of our own travels around this world and of how much we are alike rather than how much we differ.  Would that we could all get along as we do in the Olympics.  It is beautiful to see the gold medal winner reach down and pull the bronze and silver medalists up to the top of the podium--what a gracious gesture.  The opening ceremonies brought tears to our eyes as we realized how things might be if we knew each other better, if we had walked and lived in those countries which are just names on a map to too many people.  All other people are Samaritans to us, and we know how Jesus used the Samaritans in His stories and His life.  Love one another, He says, as I have loved you.  Wouldn't that be grand?  You know, if we really did.
