Quote of the Day: “They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.” ― Tom Bodett
We started a second sanitation and hygiene workshop today with nineteen women and six men (this is good), and the first day went even better than expected. The class is asking many good and thoughtful questions which is a very good sign. When the day's learning was over, three churches brought orphans here to receive clothes donated by Methodist and Baptist church members. The kids are trying on the clothes even as I am writing this, and I have already seen the big smiles on the first ones as they came out wearing their new clothes (probably the first new clothes they have ever had). In the quote above, we can't do too much about the first thing mentioned, but we are giving the women (and men) who come to the seminars both of the remaining things needed for happiness. Christianity brings hope and if we can assist and model how to work to improve their lives (and ours) then we are serving as God has called us to serve. It is a good feeling. I've had a little medical setback and am waiting for the doctor to come in from the village and will probably go back to the bush hospital for a little procedure tonight. It won't take long which is good because it really hurts--but only for a minute or two. Keep me in your prayers and continue praying for Alice who is dealing with her grief very well.
