Quote of the Day: A sacrifice to be real must cost, must hurt, must empty ourselves. The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, the fruit of service is peace. - Mother Teresa
The uniform shirts got snaps on them today. They should be ready for the kids next week--and we will have pictures to show you. Karen has worked really hard on these because of her love and admiration for her friend, Caryn Pierce, who died of cancer last year. The new preschool is named after her: Santa Caryn Pierce Academy. The pastor loves the name and loves his work. He is doing so much. He got the soccer field leveled yesterday, and today both new goal posts are in and painted. There is a dear woman coming from South Carolina next month, and I think she will be bringing money for the uniforms as well. You can tell when something is of God or not. I once asked a nun in California if women would ever be ordained as priests. Her reply was, "If a thing is of God, there is nothing you can do to keep it from happening. If it is not of God, nothing on earth can make it happen." I loved her answer and have remembered it for decades now, especially since it seems that this mission is definitely "of God." I gave John his salary yesterday and the first thing he said was that now he could get those goals painted. You gotta love him. He came to visit for a week in 2006 and has been here ever since.
