Quote of the Day:   Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.   - Mother Teresa

The doctor came again today and while we were listening to the happy sounds of the kids laughing and playing soccer, he told me my prostate would have to come out.  Next week, major surgery in a bush hospital, but he's done many of these, and we agreed when we came that we would live as the people here live and not run back to our old "safe" world when bad things happened.  This is just another opportunity to witness, and we will do that.  Sometimes, you can do more for others with your own suffering than with presents.  I hope this is one of those times, but we are asking for prayers for me, for the doctor, for the nurses, and for all those who are suffering here.  Seeing a white person in their hospital makes them feel better about themselves.  They have already told me so, thus I know it to be true.  It's not a complicated operation like a heart transplant--it's just getting rid of something that is easy to recognize and which has gone bad.  I'll just be there for a day and then home for recovery.  Thank you to all who have been praying for us--don't stop.  At the right is a picture of the pastor and John with a new soccer ball.  Clicking on the picture will take you to more soccer pictures.
