Quote of the Day: To be strong, you must first be weak. To stand tall, you must first drop to your knees. me
There is never a time when each one of us doesn't need a word of encouragement, a word of comfort, a word of acknowledgement, a word of peace, a word of love, a word of caring, a word of compassion . . . In short, we each need to hear from others that we are loved, cared for, supported, and not abandoned, alienated, or isolated. We, as humans, were not built to be alone and certainly not as Christians. We need other Christians around us, but we also need to take Christ to those who do not know Him. We need to be in the safety of the group, and we need to be out in front, in harm's way, to bring the light of Christ into the darkness of this world. It is a paradox, but it is a paradox with which we can live because Christ makes us more than we are or can be on our own. With Christ inside and the world outside, your orientation is exactly right. You must first bring Him in before you can carry Him out, but you can do this because of Him. His strength overcomes your weakness and shines forth because of it. Weakness becomes strength, frailties become rocks upon which you can build. How to achieve this almost Super Hero status? It's easy--you drop to your knees and acknowledge that Christ is the answer and invite Him into your heart. He never turns down those invitations which means that you can have all you will ever need with a single prayer. That is pretty potent stuff. I have seen it happen. It has happened to me. It can happen to you--if you will allow it, but you must request it. Christ never forces Himself upon you--He has to be invited. So, do it.
