We are having torrential rains and flooding. All the stores are closed and the roads under water. Remember, 90% of the people here travel by foot or bicycle and maybe a small motorbike, all of which are wiped out by these rains. Musoma is even worse with Lake Victorian backing up into the city. It is still raining here and even though we have a high-clearance, four-wheel-drive, we are afraid to take it out. Many of the roads will be washed away and you won't be able to see it until the water goes down. It is wreaking havoc with the power and internet as well. We just got internet back since yesterday morning and don't know how long we'll have it. Juliana is out trying to get her son from serving time. If she will pay the man whose things were stolen, he won't insist on jail time, but he is asking for way too much. We can't help her and I don't know if we would if we could. If her young son thinks his mother can get him out whenever he gets into trouble, he will do it again. He has no job and hangs with a rough crowd. I'm afraid he will steal from his mother. I wish I knew what the right thing to do is, but all I know is about dividing the baby in half and that's been done. We are praying for her and reminding her that she has two daughters to think of as well. Life can get messy. God grant us the wisdom to make the right choices when our hearts and our heads are in conflict. Pray for all those who are losing their homes and whose children will die in the flood waters because it happens every time when people live in dirt houses and huts.
