Spent all day yesterday filing and filling out forms for our resident permits.  We were told they were confirmed, but we would have to come back today.  Today we were told we were missing three critical pieces of paperwork that were there for our last permit, but the new man wasn't satisfied.  Getting two of them should be fairly easy, the third one involves the government acknowledging that the Methodist Church in Tanzania is autonomous.  Two district commissioners have said so, but we have nothing in writing.  Shaban and my friend Robi, in Musoma are on the case and tell me all will be well by next Wednesday.  Could use a lot of prayers because we need to stay here.  A French missionary friend says Tanzania is a piece of cake compared to French bureaucracy.  Glad I'm not in France.  Watch this space for further developments.
