The power was off for twelve hours today, from 3:00 am to 3:00 pm, but not because of the nationwide outage--someone wrecked two power poles in downtown Bunda and it took them all day to get them fixed. Who knows what tomorrow may bring? In the meantime, I met with Pastor John Daniel and Pastor Magesa and presented them with new bicycles thanks to Methodist friends in the States. They were very happy. I also met with the new circuit pastor for Bunda, Pastor Nynaze who is also the Secretary of the MCT (Methodist Church in Tanzania). He has been attending Bible college at Nassa on the way to Magu. He will be renting a house here, and we are paying the rent which is $25 a month. We are excited. Some of the members who were obstacles to growth have moved on to other churches, so now, maybe we can do something with the Bunda church. We have tried many things and brought many new people to the church only to have some of the old members run them off. I've seen it happen at churches in the U.S., too. We also gave him a new bicycle as you can see by the picture at the right. If you click on the picture, you can see the other pastors and their bicycles. The school ran smoothly today as we were able to run the generator for eight of the twelve hours the power was off. We just love it here; we really do! Come visit us.
