After two days of travel, made it safely to New York City. Landed in a terrible rainstorm at La Guardia which immediately turned to sleet. About 36 degrees. Karen and I were dressed for Tanzania which has never seen 36 degrees. It was very easy for the driver to spot us. We were the white people who were blue. Had coats but cleverly packed them deep in suitcases. Should be better tomorrow. Love Chris and Brenda's apartment with its view of the Hudson River, the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty. Forty floors up is higher than I have been except in an airplane for quite some time. Meeting with some of Chris's friends tomorrow, a night on the town, and then on to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Friday morning. We will stay with Chris again for four days on our way back to Tanzania. It is good to be with family and we have more of that coming. Thanks to all who prayed for our pilots, they needed those prayers. God bless you all.
