Our hearts are filled with pain. Ethan, the brother of Adriel, our daughter-in-law, was killed in action in Afghanistan on Saturday by an IED (improvised explosive device). He had already served four years in Iraq and had volunteered to go to Afghanistan. He was a good young man and loved his country. This is the sort of thing that is supposed to happen to other people, but it is our hearts that are heavy with pain. Karen's crying started all the women on staff crying. It is a sad, sad day. Our churches will be praying for Ethan's family tomorrow as we are praying now. I hate war! We will miss Ethan very much. Our granddaughters will miss their uncle. Please pray for Adriel and her family as they suffer the grief of loss and pray that as Christ promised, "Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
