Francis, our new security guard, had to take his daughter to the hospital with malaria today. Edina wasn't here because her neighbor died. Not to attend a neighbor's death is a huge insult and can have very negative consequences. When a neighbor of ours dies, we don't do any outside work for three days out of respect. Tomorrow is a Muslim holiday so no school. Karen walked up the school and was there all morning--something she hasn't done in over a year. She is happy this afternoon. John has a new computer a guy in Musoma loaned him to try to fix, so he is happy, too. Surrounded by death and sickness but life goes on. We could learn a lot from these people--and do.
