Two Methodist lay pastors came by today. One had started a new church in the village of Kalemera (about 40 kilometers from Bunda), and the other wanted help with buying some land in front of the new church in Lamadi (about 30 kilometers from Bunda). Because the church is in the village proper, the owners of the land wanted 500,000 Tsh which is way too much. We will negotiate to see if we can pay 100,000 Tsh for an easement, so the members can get in the front door. Both pastors needed bibles, and we were able to give them each five new Bibles in Kiswahili. They both prayed for my leg. A member of the Bunda church requested that I pay 60,000 Tsh for the rent on the pastor's home for the next six months, and I agreed to do that. We give away 500,000 Tsh a month of our money to help the church, and many months it is just not enough, so we have to make some hard decisions. I pray we are always good stewards of the money God has given us to use for His purposes. The folks back in Arkansas and Oklahoma also raise money for our mission, and, without that help, our small funds wouldn't do much. Still, we do what we can with what we've got and pray we make the right choices.
