Yesterday, we bought shoes, school uniforms, and books for Lusi's three children. Total cost: about $50. It cost us so little, but it meant so much to her and her children. It is impossible to express how happy a new uniform can make a child or how disappointed and sad not having one at all makes a child feel. We don't understand how so little can mean so much, yet Jesus told us to offer just one cup of water to a child is to offer one to Him. I don't mean to make us sound like great philanthropists, just to say it doesn't cost very much to feel like one. An old saying is that it is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of fight in the dog that makes the difference. It is the same with giving. It's the size of the heart in the gift that makes it special, not the size of the gift. Sometimes, all it takes is a smile and a wave. Try it and you'll never forget it.
