Sunday was a day of rest and rain. We can't get to the village churches because of the roads during the rainy season. There were a couple we would have tried if we had the other car, but this one just isn't cut out for heavy duty off-road driving. There are areas of drought here (Arusha, Geita, and others) where people are starving as the drought moves deeper into its second year. It make us feel a little guilty over our abundance of rain even though we have nothing to do with where it falls. No matter how you measure it, Tanzania is one of the five poorest countries in the world. Without world support for aid, especially food, over 1,500,000 people would starve. Thanksgiving will never mean the same to me again. This year, please remember in your prayers on Thanksgiving day, the millions of folks who will have no or very little food that day--many right here in our area. We thank you for your prayers for us and all those who serve in the name of Jesus.
