You already know how much we love the children here, and they love us back. These children love life even though it may be a life with hunger, no parents, work to do every day, school to attend after walking several miles while it is still dark. Yet, in spite of all the things that bring tears to our eyes, they laugh and run and play like they weren't hungry at all. The photos today show you just some of the children here. There is no way to explain what a lift they give to our hearts when they smile and wave as we pass by. They giggle and say the only English words they know. Usually, "Bye!" if they are small, and if they are in school, "Good morning, sir!" no matter what time of the day it is. They survive and thrive with next to nothing. We could learn a lot from these kids. They know what the Apostle Paul meant when he wrote, "Be content with what you have." The children here know how to do just that.
