Here's the chair Karen designed. It is made out of African hardwood and should last forever. It is very sturdy but not too heavy for the kids to move them. Karen plans to put a chair rail around the classroom so the chairs can be hung up to make sweeping and mopping easier. We're having twenty of them built at a cost of $25 a chair. Karen may decorate them later, but we are very happy with how they turned out. If you click on the picture of the chair you will also get to see the power pole being moved. It was moved today as everything here is--by hand, no machinery, and in about two hours. They never turned the power off but worked with live wires. These people are very, very fearless and inventive.
