The good news is that we were able to have our very first bacon cheeseburgers today. That was the highlight. The bad news is that we had a nation-wide power outage and our generator was broken which meant we would lose all the frozen food we bought yesterday. We know of only one generator mechanic in town, but he used to steal parts from our generator and sabotage it so he would have to come back and repair it again. This meant that Laurel and Hardy (John and I) had to fix it. It took us several hours with a few hot words tossed about, but in the end we had it up and running. It had been running for about thirty minutes when the power came back on. Some days are just like this. Karen did some sewing and rested--staying out of our way because we were not in the best of moods. There was more than one time when it would not have been wise to ask us how to use a rectal thermometer, but all is well and happy now. If the power stays on, we are going to watch a Harry Potter movie tonight on the computer.
