Living in one of the poorest countries of the world has opened my eyes to what true wealth really is. My wife and I are retired and living on our pension which would place us among the poor of the United States yet makes us very wealthy here in Tanzania. We have discovered that the Christians here understand hope and have a happiness that we can only envy. We are going back to the states for a month this fall, but I am not looking forward to it. We have no insurance, and I am worried about something happening to us while we are there that might prevent us from coming back. We have spent years building this mission, and I feel like I am abandoning it to return to a culture that is now foreign to me.
